The Basics of Jackrabbits:
What?  Program that teaches kids the basics of cross-country skiing  
Who? Kids aged 4-14 years  
Where? Red Lake Recreation Center and Centennial Park  
When? 1:15 to 3pm every Sunday from January to March (8 sessions)                                          
How?  Grab some skiis, come out and see if the kid(s) like it!

Some more details:

The Jackrabbits program is organized by volunteers and the parent of the participants. Remember to dress appropriatley for the weather conditions.

Goals of this program:
  • Encourage FUN and participation for all ages of of children and all abilities
  • Develop ABC’s -  Agility, Balance, Coordination  
  • Good technique habits developed through repeated practice
  • Utilize games and ski playgrounds to develop technique, skills and fitness
  • Develop linear, lateral and multi directional skills
  • Encourage social, skill and fitness-orientated ski activities
